Adrian Durrant, Glenn Pauling and Scott Walker have all won through their sections at The 2016 Australian Open Singles.
At Robina, Adrian Durrant defeated John Millington (21-17), former international cricketer Kepler Wessels (21-17) and Tim Brissett (21-11).
Glenn Pauling was drawn at Benowa and accounted for former Western Australian Dale Marsland 21-13. He then took care of Max Kleinig who represented the Adelaide Endurance at the latest Australian Premier League Series (21-11) and lastly Graeme Spry (21-7).
Scott Walker had little difficulty in progressing through his section at host club Broadbeach, defeating John Breust (21-13), Paul Inglis (21-8) and David Rixon (21-7).
Other South Perth players failed in their quests to reach the 256-man elimination stage. At Musgrave Hill Ryan Havercroft lost to Darren Morrison (4-21) and James Gregory (7-21), before an improved showing in a loss to Mark Foley (17-21).
Neale Griffin lost a thriller (20-21) to Andrew Walker and then to Muhammed Amir (12-21) before finishing well to defeat James Laverty (21-6).
Greg Reagan was unable to repeat his giant-killing exploits of last years event when he sent international representative Nathan Rice packing. Drawn at Southport, he fell to Irishman Jeremy Henry (6-21), defeated Jozef Lasak (21-6) and bowed out with a loss to Jake Fehlberg (12-21). At the same venue, Ken Pride suffered defeats to Kenneth Diplock (18-21), Rodney Graff (19-21) and Brendon Conway (9-21).
