South Perth bowlers carried on the club’s outstanding trophy-winning form by taking out last month’s Manning 5-A-Side carnival.
The invitation event featured 20 of the best clubs from across the state, playing in four disciplines over two days.
Finishing the first day behind the host club on the ladder, the Millers were undefeated in Sunday’s six qualifying matches which earned them top spot and the right to play Manning in the $5000-to-the-winner final.
The final saw pairs and triples played first, with South Perth winning the pairs by eight shots, but losing the triples by five, taking a three-shot advantage into the second round.
In the singles Justin Opie was victorious 21-20 over Thomas Mitchell while the foursome of Glenn Pauling, Scott Walker, Nick Reagan and Tyrone Alberti held off the Manning side by seven shots to secure the title.
The dominance of the South Perth teams was highlighted by the club being the best performed in pairs, triples and fours through the qualifying rounds.
