Glenn Pauling reaches semi finals of State singles

Glenn Pauling was narrowly defeated 25-20 by Blake Nairn in the recent Men’s State Singles at Doubleview.

He played some incredible bowls and held his nerve through some close encounters against fellow top-line bowlers.

In post-sectional play Glenn eliminated Neil Payne (21-14), Bill Brandsma (21-9), Daniel Patterson (21-19) & Beau Manton (21-20).

By doing so, Glenn matched Scott Walker’s effort in 2014 where Walker also lost to the eventual winner (Stuart Bainbridge).

South Perth was represented by thirteen players in the event, six of those progressing past sectional play (Neale Griffin, Scott Walker, Ashley Sharp, Nick Reagan, Matt McEwen & Glenn Pauling).

Eliminated from the event in the alignment round were Neale Griffin and Nick Reagan.

Matt McEwen and Scott Walker departed the event in the round of 64 and Ashley Sharp in the round of 32.
