On Sunday Glenn Pauling successfully qualified for the prestigious Australian Indoor Championships to be held at the Tweed Heads Bowling Club in August. Glenn did so without losing a set during the qualifying event, and in the process joined Clive Adams and Charlie Slavich as a Western Australian representative travelling to the four-day event.
Glenn won his section before defeating Trevor Hinkley in the alignment round on Saturday afternoon. Sunday he defeated Bedford’s Cody Packer (11-4, 9-5), before booking his seat with victory over Osborne Park’s Lewis Grigg (8-5, 9-6). He has had a stellar previous 12 months, which includes qualifying for the 2011 Scottish Open and being a Semi-Finalist (with Scott Walker) at the 2012 Australian Open Pairs in February.
Ross Bresland won his section Saturday but fell victim to Australia A squad member Clive Adams in a tight, tie-break decided contest (12-3, 6-8, 2-3) on Sunday morning.
Ryan Havercroft then lost to Clive Adams (1-10, 8-9), in the last round of qualifying, after defeating last year’s Australian Indoor Runner-Up Lance Strahan (5-7, 10-0, 5-0) in the morning session.
